Woohoo! Wednesday is just about over- I am so happy to be one step closer to the three day weekend! I have some plans that I am seriously excited about. Writing this WIAW is a bit sad for me..as the last time I posted a WIAW I was busy staring at Justin Timberlake’s butt in the same day. Sigh. Today was rather normal, starting with breakfast.

Uncle Sam’s cereal with chocolate almond milk and PB. Seriously..this tasted like cocoa krispies!

I had to make a quick run to the grocery store before work and decided I could splurge on a Harris Teeter salad bar lunch. Grilled chicken, eggs, cottage cheese..can you tell I’m amping up the protein here?

And with lunch… some white chocolate chips. I needed my sweet fix!

I’ve made 2pm my designated snack time, I’m usually starving by then. (I eat lunch at 11am..grandma status.)

Tuna mixed with Smart Beat mayo (I’m telling you- SO good) + spicy brown mustard.

Post work I hit up the gym to complete 10 minutes of HIIT on the treadmill and 20 minutes of ellipticalling to the Kardashians. Nothing too intense- just wanted to get my butt moving on some cardio since I’ve been focusing more on weights lately!

Dinner was a lazy one- whole wheat pasta with chicken sausage and jarred (DON’T TELL MY MOM) sauce with spinach. I’m a bad, bad Italian girl today. The shame.

Right now I’m sippin’ on some water but let’s be real here, I’m sure I’ll have a glass of wine soon. I told myself I’d cut back on my week time wine consumption but Danny brought a giant bottle home for me post work Monday…that boy. Cheers!

Happy hump day, and more importantly- happy WIAW!

Before I showcase my eats- I feel the need to brag. For the past two days in a row Alyssa and I have worked out right next to (I mean sharing weights from the same rack/sitting on side by side benches) THIS FACE. Photo:

Apparently sexiest man in the universe JT records here in VA Beach and has chosen our amazing gym as his place to get fit. Basically- holy shit. I haven’t said one word to him and I’ve barely stared because I have a huge fear that if he is too bothered he will change gyms and leave my life forever. Hunk of the world, you are JT. I will admire you from three feet away.

This morning I woke up after dreaming about Justin Timberlake’s sweaty abs to a rumbling stomach!

Breakfast was a bowl of plain cheerios with almond milk, peanuts, and chocolate chips. If I said “Nom”, I’d say it now.

Also served with coffee+almond milk/my first jug of water for the day!

Lunch time! Hearty whole-wheat with turkey, cheese, and Smart Beat mayo. If you like mayo…try this. I think it’s amazing.

Also with lunch I got a little wild and heated up the end of a bag of frozen spinach mixed with some peanuts.

odd? yes. delicious? yes.

My not yet consumed snack will be a Think Thin bar..Told ya I’ve been loving lately!
And for dinner! D$ and I will be eating leftover lasagna. I made it last night and definitely impressed myself, not to mention my man! Girlfriend points, that’s what it’s all about here. It’s also all about ridiculous wall paper. We’re renting. Have no fear.

Don’t mind the top.. cooking in clothes you’d wear to the club provides bonus girlfriend points, and those count the most.

Off to spend the rest of my day with these suckers! I’m working on a book launch for my job and it’s getting pretty exciting up in here.

I’m anxiously awaiting my afternoon gym date with Alyss and JT. He better be there today! And he should be- my mom texted me last night and said, “Are you going to be in his next video? Maybe he likes your butt.”

I like his too. And YES JT- I can dance.

what we ate wednesday

Hey ya’ll! guess what?! This week it’s a super awesome what WE ate Wednesday since Courtney is visiting Jamie in Virginia Beach!

Our breakfasts were eaten separately- Court’s in an airport/on the plane:

Finally.. TOGETHER FOR LUNCH! Grilled chicken with pesto and cheese for this beach girl and a grilled veggie wrap for the city chick. We were offered sides of fries, chips, and onion rings. Since all were def unhealthy we both shouted for onion rings! They made Court feel weird. BAHA.

After attempting a beach tan for an hour and watching some Sex & The City, we were starving. Salad for Court and a Shroom Pepper & Goat Cheese wrap for Jamie. We shared sides of cucumber salad and broccoli like little old ladies.

And to prove that we aren’t actually old ladies: vodka & diet and a vodka & seltzer.

We’re currently hanging out watching the Jersey Shore flashbacks and stalking blogs… trying to make the tough decision between wine at home tonight or wild dancing at the bars. Please vote for the latter.

edit: wine it is while we wait for the rain to subside so we can dance wildly.

Hey y’all! Welcome to another installment of WIAW.


To be honest: Today was the day of dessert. I’m not proud of it, but I am currently under a bit of life stress and… it happens. So please enjoy my dessert filed day. And please understand what happens when you’re an emotional nut and you can’t help eating chocolate for nine meals. Ish.

8 AM: Woke up and grabbed some coffee and water. Drank it black, hardcore. This was when my first sweet kick set in: Whole wheat toast with PB & Choc Chips.

11 AM: SALAD. Leftover from Danny’s parents.. lots of corn& tomatoes MM. I cooked an egg to throw on top for protein. Tarrah said GROSS I said YUM.

1 PM: Hungry again as per usual. I finished off a bit of mac& cheese also leftover from D$s parents house. We are moochers. This is why we are there every single day…

3PM: Rushing through some writing to try and finish up so I can hit the beach with Tarrah! Check out my new suits.. I didn’t eat them, I wore them.

And obviously post beach say 5PM- We stopped for froyo. Lots of fruit for me. I like to work it in that way.. ;)

5PM I thought a perfect pre-gym snack would be a brownie. Obviously perfect fuel.

5:30 PM- 3 miles of HIIT ( I WAS SWEATY. It wasn’t pretty.)+ 5 minutes of cool down on the bike.

8PM Til now- eating two slices of pizza (known as ‘ZA aroud these parts) while drinking some pinot. This is how I deal with stress- wine, and sugar.

Better eats to come tomorrow, right? :)

what court ate wednesday

I’ll start this out by saying Jamie and I have had multiple conversions today pondering how people get their WIAW in so early. With our two brains together (mostly Jamie’s), I think we finally realized it’s not called WIAOW for a reason. Regardless.. here is what I ate ON Wednesday. :)


Of course
today also happens to be Bagel Wednesday, so I started my day off with a whole wheat everything bagel and scallion cream cheese.

I also get crafty in the morning and make my own unsweetened iced tea for a little kick of caffeine.

I’m never very hungry for lunch on Bagel Wednesday (I wonder why… could have something to do with my excessive amounts of cream cheese?!) so I usually pack something light. Today, it was wax beans, zucchini, summer squash, broccoli, cauliflower, and green peppers tossed with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and lots of ground pepper. Eaten outside on the roof for some extra Vitamin D :D

Immediately after lunch, I mean… sometime in the afternoon I got hungry and decided it was snack time. I just got white bean and basil hummus that I’m basically obsessed with so I had that with cucumber from my Dad’s garden (yes, I MUST peel them) and a few TJ’s Reduced Guilt Pita Chips. I think I need to elaborate on the obsessed part: my co-worker had me try some of hers a few weeks ago, and I hadn’t stopped thinking about it until I went and got some yesterday. This is surprising because I don’t really like hummus, but less surprisingly.. I think that’s because I don’t really think it’s hummus at all after reading the ingredients..

After work, I hit the gym for 3 easy miles and 15 minutes on the bike. I skipped the weights today because after wards I did laundry, and in New York – they are basically the same thing. ;) Dinna, dinna time came nexttttt. I sautéed a ton of peppers, onions, jalepenos, mushrooms, and a few zucchini & carrots. (Half is for lunch tomorrow.)

Then, tossed them with romaine, black beans, and TJ’s avocado salsa verde.

And, I saved the best for last… CHEESE! I actually took this picture then said out loud “let’s be real, I need more cheese.”

Finally.. all together now, I’ve had 3 fill ups of this guy, my 32 oz water bottle.

I’ll probably end the night with one more fill up and possibly a TJ’s frozen peach pop… mmm..
